SOS Open Source Goes Open Source!

I am excited to anticipate you that we’ll soon distribute the SOS Open Source tools under an open source license!

This has been a long due move and I am glad we are finally working on updating and polishing a bit our tools so that everyone could evaluate and select open source software using SOS Open Source on her own premise.

I’m planning to join a couple open source business events in the coming weeks, feel free to contact me if you want to meet you in person and talk about how open source plays a role in your business. I’d love to hear ideas about how the SOS Open Source team could help you to be more successful.

Open Source Survey Tools: LimeSurvey

SOS Open Source last week evaluated LimeSurvey, the PHP open source survey web application to create on line surveys, translated in many languages and downloaded over 485.000 times. Read more

Open Source Project Management Tools

SOS Open Source has been used to find and select open source web-based project management with issue-tracking and time-tracking tools to manage multiple IT projects, possibly localized in Italian (or at least open for internazionalization and localization).

The pre-selection of project management programs started by focusing on some of the most famous web-based ones, excluding the following (for the following reasons):

• Kforge, Project HQ, ProjectPier because maintained by a small group;
• Collabtive, Feng Project, because too young (less than 3 years old);
